Public Notice
Big Land General Grocery Limited informed Makkovik Inuit Community Government by letter, dated January 18th, 2019 that they will be submitting an application to NFLD & Labrador Liquor Corporation for a beer license at the Big Land Grocery establishment in Makkovik. As per Section 129 of the Provincial Liquor Act, entitled Local Option for access to alcohol, " the NFLD and Labrador Liquor Board may not issue or renew a liquor license in a community unless it has first obtained the approval of the council of the community".
This matter will be tabled to the next regular meeting of Makkovik Inuit Community Government on Wednesday, February 13th, 2019.
As part of our review, Council will be accepting comments or concerns from residents, businesses and/or organizations on the proposed beer license application, Please submit your comments in writing by mail, email, or fax.
The deadline for submissions is February 12th, 2019 at 5:00 pm .
