Call for Nominations: Two Voter's "A" Councillor Seats

As per the IL2010-04, Inuit Community Government Elections Act, nominations of Candidates for the By-Election of two Voter's "A" Councillors, representing those residents who are Inuit, Resident and their descendants, shall be accepted at the Town Office, 16 Andersen Street between the hours of 9:00 am to 4:00 pm from:
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 28th , 2019 TO TUESDAY, DECEMBER 10th, 2019
If there are two or more nominations received, the By-Election will take place on:
JANUARY 14TH, 2020
If there are two or less nominations received, these candidates will be declared elected by acclamation at the closing of nominations. Successful candidates will sit as councillors for the unexpired term of office which is up to October 2022.
Councillor are entitled to a quarterly renumeration.
A Nomination:
a)Shall be in writing in the required form
b)Shall state the name and address of Candidate
c)Shall be signed by the Proposer and Seconder, both of whom shall be present together with the Candidate. The Candidate shall also sign the nomination from to signify his or her acceptance. In order to be a Proposer or Seconder, he/she must be enrolled on the same Voter's Roll as the Candidate.
d)Candidate to pay a non-refundable nomination fee of $ 25.00, to be paid upon date of nomination.
Note- If a Candidate is absent due to unforeseen circumstances, he or she can still be nominated. In this case, the Proposer must complete a required form and also sign an Oath of Affirmation, to affirm that the individual they are nominating is eligible to run in an election.
