Public Notice: Trail Grooming Season over for 2020

As per direction from Labrador Affairs Secretariat, Govt of NL, effective immediately Makkovik Inuit Community Government(MICG) will no longer be grooming the trails between Makkovik and Burnt Lake. This includes the traditional wood trail from Makkovik to South Brook.

MICG will be maintaining the local roads with Husky Snow Cat Groomer as needed( after storms,etc) or in the event of an emergency.

Residential Work Order Requests

Presently, MICG is operating on a downscaled work force due to precautionary measures on COVID-19. During this time , we will not be accepting any private work order requests. This includes request for grooming on residential properties. Commercial requests for grooming will be considered to improve safe and quick access to buildings. A work order will be issued and grooming to be completed as per our existing Work Order Policy.
