EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY extended to September 17, 2015
YOUTH ASSISTANT
The Makkovik Inuit Community Government was successful in receiving funds to hire a Youth Assistant under Inuit Pathways Work Experience Program. This position is open to both male and female beneficiaries of the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement.
Qualifications:
Currently unemployed and interested in pursuing a career in Recreation
Valid Code of Conduct.
MICG is required to screen any applicants for the Youth Assistant position to insure that he/she meets the eligibility of Inuit Pathways Work Experience program
Duties:
Supervising adults children under the age of 18
Assist with recreation and youth programming at the Youth Centre, Community Hall, & Gymnasium
Assist with community and special events
Other duties as required by Director Recreation and Community Events
Hours of Work:
40 hours per week. Time off will be granted for overtime. Any overtime accumulated will have to be used before the end of the work term.
Rate of Pay:
$11.00 per hour plus applicable vacation pay

If the successful applicant is in arrears of taxes the individual will be expected to make weekly contribution through pay cheque deductions.
