INTERNAL/EXTERNAL POSITION

Status and Reporting Protocol:
This is a full time permanent unionized position that reports directly to the Supervisor of Operations and Public Works.
Qualifications:
Minimum High School Graduation
Certified in Heavy Equipment
Must possess a valid driver's license with Class 3, 5, 8 and 9 endorsements
Must be capable of being insured and maintaining insurance under the Town's Vehicle insurance and liability insurance policies.
Up to date Valid Code of Conduct
Training:
There will be a training component to the Maintenance Worker position. The successful candidate will be required to undergo training for the following:
Certification in Water Distribution Systems, Chlorine Residuals and Seasonal Water Sampling.
Safety Training ( OHS, First Aid, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Dangerous Goods, and Powerline Hazards)
Job shadowing will be available with the Supervisor of Operations and Public Works and current Maintenance worker.
Primary Areas of Responsibility:
The Maintenance Worker is responsible for the operations of heavy equipment, water and sewer system and for carrying out repairs and ongoing maintenance of roads, underground infrastructure, all other duties relating to maintenance of Town Buildings, and any other duties related to outside operations and public works as outlined below.

Job Description- Maintenence Worker
Salary Scale is based on the NAPE Collective Agreement. The base hourly rate as of April 01, 2020 will be $ 24.28 per hour plus $ 3.41 per hour Northern Allowance. During the probationary period, the base rate is $ 23.28 per hour. Upon successful completion of probationary period the base hourly rate will increase to $ 24.28.
Scope of Work
1. Operation of Heavy Equipment and Infrastructure Maintenance
2. Installation of Services and Waste Management
3. Reporting and Records Management
4. Workplace Health and Safety
5. Capitol Works, Roads, and Municipal Facilities
6. Site Inspections
7. Town Beautification and Recreation Facilities
8. Reporting and Records Management
Start Date: Official start date to be determined.
Closing Date: Monday, March 30th, 2020 at 3:00 pm
