Seniors Support Coordinator

Rate of Pay
$ 20.00 per hour plus 4% Vacation Pay
Hours per Week
30 hrs from Monday to Friday
Duration of Employment
Full time Temporary Position for 23 Weeks
( AUGUST 31, 2020 to JANUARY 31, 2021) .

Qualifications:

A minimum of High School graduation. Proficiency in some computer skills including typing, and knowledge of Microsoft Word, emails, saving and retrieval of computerized folders/files.

List of Duties:

 The main duty of this position falls under the " Helping Hands" scope of work during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic which is to assist our Seniors Population over the age of 60 years. The assistance will include( but not limited to) shopping and delivery of groceries, checking mail, picking up and delivering medication. Socializing with Seniors( visiting and telephone calls). The Successful applicant to work out of own home( with internet) and must be readily available to run errands at all times during normal work hours. A lap top will be supplied

 Radio Station Programming geared toward the Seniors population

 Monthly Baking/Cooking Day- Cooking traditional foods/baked goods and delivering to Seniors

 As per the MICG purchasing process, ordering of items for the Backyard Gardening Project. This scope of work will include compiling list of items, collecting price quotes etc

 Coordinating the weekly programming schedule for completion of the duties. Compiling radio programming, creating a monthly baking and cooking day, coming up with creative virtual ideas to engage the Senior Population. Keeping the public informed of the programming and the events, on social media outlets available( CIML, Facebook, posters and pubic notices ).

 Assistance to GENERAL PUBLIC with required Federal and Provincial Government applications including EI Applications, Old Age Security, CPP, MCP Renewal, setting up MyServiceCanadaAccount, or MYGovtAcct, MCP Renewal etc.

 Submitting bi-weekly written reports to the immediate supervisor, Chief Administrative Officer(CAO) for this Program.
