Request for Proposals - Operation of Makkovik Arena Canteen

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
OPERATION OF MAKKOVIK ARENA CANTEEN
1) GENERAL
The intent and purpose of this Request for Proposals( RFP) is to solicit a statement of interest from experienced and qualified providers to operate the Makkovik Arena Canteen. The intention is for a service provider to provide a canteen service to customers while the Makkovik Arena is open . The Successful Proponent will enter into a lease and operating agreement, with the said owner Makkovik Inuit Community Government, to be signed at a later date.
2) COMPONANTS
The scope of the operations of the Makkovik Arena Canteen includes the following components:
a) To operate the Makkovik Arena Canteen on a regularly scheduled basis when it is open for arena activities or Community Events. The successful proponent will be expected to prepare fast food items, sell confectionary and beverages and be responsible for their own human resources. At the discretion of MICG, the selected proponent may extend its hours of operations.
b) To recognize the MICG- Recreation Department Eat Smart Policy by including a healthier alternative menu to include( but not limited to) home made soups, sandwiches, having fruit and vegetables.
c) To be responsible for it's own administration duties, to include the ordering/delivery of items required, and the hiring of staff.
d) To supply own point of sale devices( cash register, debit machine and telephone services)
e) To be responsible for the cleaning and sanitation of the Makkovik Arena Canteen as per the Services NL regulations for food establishments.
f) That the lease will include the usage of the canteen, to include the cooking and refrigeration equipment service counter, one large storage freezer in storage room and the storage security room located within the canteen.
REQUIREMENTS
In order to be considered for the RFP review process, the proponent must have the following documentation in place, to be provided with the RFP submission, or if in the process of acquiring. Please provide a copy of the form of application or letter if in the process of acquiring the documentation
a) Insurance Policy
b) Workers Health and Safety Commission Number
c) Business Number( not mandatory)
d) Business or Character References ( not mandatory but would prefer one of each).
AWARD
It is the Makkovik Inuit Community Governments intent to award the RFP to the most qualified and responsive respondent who offers the best overall proposal for the services Makkovik Inuit Community Government is requesting.

FINAL SELECTION
BETWEEN JANUARY 20TH, TO AND 22RD. LETTER OF APPROVAL SENT
The RFP process will be governed according to the above schedule. Although every attempt will be made to meet the RFP Schedule, the Makkovik Inuit Community Government reserves the right to modify any or all dates at it's sole discretion.

Please submit a letter explaining your reason for your interest, along with the required application( and documentation) and the completed form attached, in a sealed envelope, clearly marked " RFP- Operations of Makkovik Arena Canteen", to the address listed above by JANUARY 19TH, 2023 at 3:00 pm.
Hard copy of this document, including the application, can be emailed, or printed for pick up, if requested.
