Carpenter Supervisor

Status and Reporting Protocol:
This is a full-time temporary position that reports directly to the Chief Administrative Officer.
Qualifications:
The Carpenter Supervisor must have a minimum high school graduation, or possess excellent skills, knowledge in carpentry, and at least five (5) years practical experience in the carpentry field. Certification in carpentry or another approved building trade would be an asset.
Knowledge and skills in a wide range of carpentry related duties and responsibilities is necessary for this position, as well as the ability to allocate work and supervise carpenter assistants and laborers as required.
Primary Areas of Responsibility:
The Carpenter Supervisor is responsible for the coordination and completion of capital works projects and other special projects identified by the town which require carpentry skills. The Carpenter Supervisor is also responsible for coordinating work, materials, and workers at the job site, and for allocating duties and responsibilities to workers on a daily basis. Basic knowledge of the skilled trades and carpentry to complete projects and to assist in maintaining buildings and carrying out repairs and other improvements is required.

Salary and Duration of Work
$23.50 per hour plus vacation pay
40 hrs per week
