Makkovik Inuit Community Goverment is marking this week as Heritage Week. This is a time to reflect on the acheivement of past generations and to accept the responsibilities in protecting our heritage.
Thank you to the residents of Makkovik, who work in this field, in particular the members of the White Elephant Museum Committee. Hats off to you for all that you do in keeping the rich heritage of Makkovik alive!

MOOSE HARVEST
Sealed bid(s) are being accepted from beneficiaries interested in harvesting one (1) moose allocated under the Nunatsiavut Government 2018-2019 moose management plan.
Bids must include the slaughter, butchering, distribution and disposal of the meat to the community as determined by the Makkovik Inuit Community Government. In addition, the antlers (if any) to remain with the Makkovik Inuit Community Government. All tools, fuel, ammunitions, packaging and supplies associated with the above is to be covered under the bid.
Please note: The moose must be harvested by March 31, 2019
Please submit your sealed bids( bid amount inside envelope to the Council office by Friday February 20, 2019 @ 4:00 pm.

NGC and Jordin are still in Nain due to weather and there is no flights out yet. Unfortunately, due to that NGC & Jordin will have to cancel the Makkovik portion of the trip. There is a strict timeline and can't add the missed day to the trip as Jordin has to fly out of Goose Bay Saturday evening.
Very sorry to have to miss Makkovik, but the weather cannot be controlled.
