It has come to the council's attention that a dog was recently caught in a leg hold trap near the Community (within the Municipal Plan). It is therefore, strongly recommended not to trap in areas close by the community where incidents such as this could happen.

In order to avoid a situation such as this, it is strongly recommended that pet owners also take the responsibility of ensuring that their pets are supervised at all times.

Thank you for your cooperation on this matter.

Sincerely,

Makkovik Inuit Community Government

All freight at Goose Bay is cleared up except for couple deck pieces and that will be going on the Northern Ranger.

The Astron and the Northern Ranger will be finished going up Upper Lake Melville once the Northern Ranger leaves now and they will both concentrate on Lewisporte.

Nunatsiavut Marine Inc. do not anticipate having a problem delivering all the freight from Lewisporte. that was delivered to them prior to the cut off date.
