Sealed bid(s) are being accepted from beneficiaries interested in harvesting one (1) moose allocated under the Nunatsiavut Government 2019-2020 moose management plan.

Bids must include the slaughter, butchering, distribution and disposal of the meat to the community as determined by the Makkovik Inuit Community Government. In addition, the antlers (if any) to remain with the Makkovik Inuit Community Government. All tools, fuel, ammunition, packaging and supplies associated with the above is to be covered under the bid.

Please note: The moose must be harvested by March 31, 2020
Please submit your sealed bids( bid amount inside envelope to the Council office by Friday , February 21, 2020 @ 4:00 pm.

The Makkovik Inuit Community Government is now seeking nominations for an award that will be presented to a local musician for their continued dedication and inspiration in music. This award will be presented in conjunction with DHSD at the Makkovik Jamboree which will take place March 13-14, 2020.

The award is in honour of Makkovik's first local band, "The Bandits". Over the years, "The Bandits" have seen many talented musicians who have always played a big role in our community...

Good Morning :

Trail section Mudlake / Churchill River crossing marked and groomed.

Trail section HVGB – NWR is marked and groomed by GRSC.

Trail section NWR –Separation Lake is groomed and marked to Mulligan. No grooming or marking north of Mulligan but condition is fairly good. NWR is planning to send groomer North of Mulligan Monday.

Trail section Separation Lake to Makkovik and Postville is marked and is ongoing. No grooming due to lack of snow.

This is to advise the public that 2020 Municipal Tax Invoices will be issued within the next week.

TO RECEIVE A 5% DISCOUNT:

A 5% DISCOUNT is available on the 2020 Municipal Taxes if fully paid by March 31, 2020 noting that there will be a 5% monthly interest charged for any balances owed after June 30th, 2020

Anyone still owing last year's ( 2019) Municipal Taxes, please make arrangements to pay as soon as possible. If not paid, any balances owed will be subject to a 5% monthly interest.
